| Start Hiking is
quite frankly a couple of guys who have two loves
in their lives. Hiking and the Internet. Yeah I
know they are pretty much on the opposite ends of
the spectrum. But we can't think of any better way
to get away from sitting at a computer screen then
hitting the trail and getting back to nature.
Currently the contributors to this
site are all college students from several universities
in the United States.
Two of the contributors will be graduating in
2004, and one of those two plans on doing the
Appalachian Trail immediately following.

Start Hiking is a hiking site
started in 2002 that is aimed to answering the
questions that new hikers have. Our goal is to
provide a large and accurate database of tips
and trails provided by other hikers. We hope to
also build forums for hikers to swap stories and
tips.
